On January 10, Sydney’s single ladies will witness hundreds of eligible bachelors coming out of the woodwork and heading to Telstra Stadium to join the first singles event of its kind when the SpeedBlitz Blues play WA in the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

It’s a common gripe heard from the lips of single woman on the lookout for love: “Where have all the good men gone?” And it’s not surprising that stats studied by Bernard Salt, well-known demographer who coined the term “man drought”, revealed a growing gap between Australia's male and female populations, with 20,000 fewer men than women in their 30s (compared to 54,000 more men than women in 1976*).

In response to women seeking relief from the notorious “Man Drought”, Get Hitched, Fast Impressions and Cricket NSW, are excited to announce the launch of the biggest singles sporting event to hit Australia; the Twenty20 Singles Party at the game that has taken the world by storm; Twenty20 Cricket.

Taking place in the heart of Telstra Stadium’s spectator seats, 1000 singles will unite for a night at the cricket with pre and after parties, live DJs, singles match up games, celebrity guests & fantastic giveaways including tickets to Sony Pictures new comedy Walk Hard The Dewey Cox Story hitting the cinemas on Jan 24.

The highlight: a worldwide first, speed dating in the spectator seats. The play on the field will dictate the play in the seats:

"There may be a man drought in Sydney but there are still hundreds of fantastic and available men out there - women just have to look in the right places!" says Get Hitched Director Sean Grobbelaar. “And girls needn’t be avid sports fans to attend the Twenty20 Singles Party - this event is for singles who have a one thing in common: they’re all passionate about having fun and meeting like-minded people.”

Time: 5.30pm gates open for pre-party, game runs 7pm-10pm, followed by after-party.
